The weather looks to be holding up for Quidditch today and since Ravenclaw isn't playing, I find myself rooting for Gryffindor.

[Private to Time Travelers and Harry Potter, Ginny Weasley, Ron Weasley, Ellie Montgomery, Fiona Montgomery, Draco Malfoy, Astoria Greengrass]

I've been doing quite a bit of research on parallel universes and time travel. I started reading this book, The Universe and Multiple Reality, a bit closer and it seems to suggest a model for quantum superposition of realities, or rather, how these quantum effects "leak out" into the macroworld and indeed define it...

"This first postulate simply asks us to assume that every possible arrangement of matter and energy consistent with the laws of quantum physics exists. This postulate asks us to assume, among other things, that a universe exists "right now" somewhere that differs from our own only in that one electron on one remote planet of one distant star in, say, the Cartwheel Galaxy is in a less excited energy state. Another universe exists that differs from the present universe only in that one photon, of all the photons in the room where this book is being read, is positioned exactly one Ångström unit to the left. Another universe exists in which the earth has two natural moons. Another universe exists in which there is no planet earth. Another exists in which Elizabeth Taylor has brown eyes. Another exists in which the George Washington has a wart on his nose.(*)"

It might explain the differences in our worlds, but it is far from any solution to returning you to your own world. There could be some sort of cosmic rift, or tear in the time-space continum but without an actual point or place in time, it would be hard to decipher, I think.

Another idea comes from a story by a muggle author, named Mark Twain. A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court though Merlin's plan of putting Hank to sleep for 1300 years so he awakes only to find about a past he can never reclaim, isn't going to work for us here either. Obviously, there is a major flaw in his thinking as we couldn't possibly follow his route, but it begs the question how the future for us and the past for the time travelers can coexist within the same universe or would it cause a fundamental shift causing a vaacuum.

I don't know if this helps or not but I'll keep looking for something more substantial.

[Private to Rose Weasley]

Would you consider meeting me after lunch one afternoon to chat?

I'm thinking it's time to revamp some things as we near the holidays. Cleaning is always a good place to start and in doing so this evening, I came across and old pamphlet for S.P.E.W. Some of you might remember from several years back. The Mittens and Socks campaign was positively dismal. So I believe it's time once again to shoot for the moon and come up with some winter wares for perhaps more than the poor, ill-treated house elves, and consider others too, who might not be as fortunate as ourselves.

Anyone interested in helping, then?

[Hexed so private a diamond might come out the Hex's ass]

...I'm not even sure what I believe anymore....

[Harry]

Up for a stroll anytime soon? I could use a fag right about now. The tower seems particularly stuffy tonight.
